POTA FOX HUNT WINNERS! 🏆

Congratulations to KR4AXD - Kim who was first to find both transmitters at POTA Palooza 2025. Kim was aided by her husband K4MCK - Kevin who used a step attenuator with a tape measure yagi (from the kit featured at the Greenville Hamfest the week before) to identify general areas to investigate. Prior to the hunt Will KO4WIL and Lyle K9FIK taught techniques including body-blocking the handy talky and receiving with no antenna to a group of 10 prospective hunters. These techniques were used to move closer. While Kevin was walking in circles and confused by the fox, Kim spotted the transmitters - one of which Kevin had discarded the Yagi nearly on top of. In review of the successful hunt, Kim commented “If it had been a snake, it would have bitten you” to her fox-hunting partner.
